Garment Production Guides: Specs, Sampling, MOQ and Timing

In Bangladeshi men's wear production, planning decides the quote, the sample rounds and the ship date long before cutting begins. Production is the stage buyers worry about most and the one that fails least. The expensive mistakes happen before cutting starts and after goods are finished.

What has to be settled before production begins?

A complete specification, an approved pre-production sample, a confirmed fabric and trim availability date, and a written tolerance table. Missing any one of them converts a fixed price into an estimate and a delivery date into a hope.

The approved sample is the artefact that matters most. It is the only physical reference both parties have signed against, and without one a quality dispute becomes an argument about intentions.

  • Tech packs — the six mandatory sections, and the four things first packs always omit.
  • AQL inspection — how a container is sampled, what separates a critical defect from a minor one, and what happens when a lot fails.
  • Minimum order quantity — why it exists, where the real constraint sits, and which levers genuinely move it.
  • Production lead time — a realistic calendar, and which stage absorbs a delay without moving your date.
  • Sample charges — what a development sample costs, and when it is credited against bulk.

Where does production planning fit when sourcing from Bangladesh?

Buyers arriving with a complete specification reach an approved sample in two rounds; buyers arriving with a photograph take four or more, and each round is a fortnight. We review what you send and tell you what is missing before quoting, because a gap found at quotation costs nothing. Start at manufacturing.
