Men's Accessories and Leather Goods: Sourcing and Supply

We supply men's belts, wallets, caps, shoes and leather goods from Bangladesh, made in our network or sourced to your specification, with order quantities stated per category.

Men's accessories are not one production category but five. Belts and wallets come from leather-goods workshops, shoes from footwear factories, caps from headwear lines, and every leather article starts at a tannery. We supply all five — produced in our network or sourced against the buyer's specification — so a range of garments and accessories ships under one order, one inspection and one set of documents.

Which men's accessories are supplied from Bangladesh?

Belts, wallets and card holders, caps, footwear, and small leather goods such as key cases and travel pouches. Each runs through a different specialist production base and clears customs under its own heading, which sets the duty rate and the documents required.

Bangladesh's leather supply rests on a large domestic cattle and goat population, and a substantial share of each year's hides is collected during Eid al-Adha. The country's tanneries were relocated from Hazaribagh in Dhaka to the Savar Tannery Industrial Estate from 2017, consolidating the sector on a central effluent treatment plant.

Caps are the one textile category in the group, and cap manufacturing covers panel counts, closures and embroidery in full. Buyers needing caps inside the current season check available caps lots.

What is the difference between genuine cow leather and vegan leather?

Genuine cow leather is tanned cattle hide. Vegan leather is a polyurethane (PU) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coating on a textile backing. Cow leather is stronger, breathes and develops patina with use; PU costs less, holds uniform colour across rolls and contains no animal material.

Labelling"Leather"Not labelled as leather

Leather grade is the specification point buyers leave open most. Full-grain leather keeps the entire outer surface of the hide, including natural marks. Top-grain leather has the surface lightly sanded to remove marks. Corrected-grain leather is sanded further and embossed with an artificial grain. Split leather comes from the lower layer of the hide after the grain is removed, and is coated. Bonded leather is reconstituted from leather fibres and binder, and is described as such. ISO 15115 defines these terms, and some European markets restrict use of the word "leather" to genuine hide.

Tanning method is the second choice. Chrome tanning produces soft, colour-stable leather at volume; vegetable tanning uses plant tannins and produces a firmer leather that darkens with age. Chrome-tanned leather sold in the EU must meet the REACH limit of 3 mg/kg for chromium VI in articles in contact with skin. EU footwear labelling under Directive 94/11/EC requires pictograms identifying leather, coated leather, textile or other materials for the upper, lining and sole.

Buyers working across materials and suppliers use our Bangladesh sourcing support to compare tanneries and workshops before committing. Footwear buyers check shoes currently in stock for immediate supply.

How are men's belts specified?

By strap width, material and grade, thickness, edge finish, buckle type and size range. Dress belts commonly run 30 to 35 millimetres wide and casual belts 35 to 40 millimetres. Belt size is measured from the buckle fold to the centre hole.

  • Width — 30–35 mm for dress, 35–40 mm for casual and jeans belts.
  • Thickness — 3–4 mm for single-layer leather; stitched two-ply straps for heavier belts.
  • Edge — painted, burnished or folded and stitched.
  • Buckle — zinc alloy, brass or stainless steel; prong, plate or reversible swivel.
  • Sizing — waist-matched, in 5 cm or 2-inch steps.

EU buyers specify nickel-free or nickel-safe buckle plating, because REACH limits nickel release from metal parts in prolonged skin contact. A branded buckle is cast from a custom mould with its own one-off charge and supplier minimum; a stock buckle with an engraved or laser-marked logo avoids the mould entirely. Buyers wanting belts without a production cycle check belts currently in stock.

How are wallets and small leather goods specified?

By format — bifold, trifold, card holder or zip-around — then by card-slot count, leather type and grade, lining, edge finish and whether an RFID-blocking layer is included. Wallet leather measures 0.8 to 1.2 millimetres thick after skiving.

Skiving thins the leather at folds and edges so the wallet closes flat. Interior construction decides durability more than the outer leather does: lining material, stitch density and edge treatment are where low-cost wallets fail first. An RFID-blocking layer is a metallised fabric laminated between leather and lining.

Branding on leather is applied by embossing, debossing or foil stamping from a brass or magnesium die, made once per logo and held for repeat orders. Gift boxes and printed sleeves carry their own artwork approval and minimum. Buyers working from existing inventory check wallets currently in stock.

How are men's shoes constructed, and which constructions are available?

Men's shoes use three main constructions: cemented, with the upper glued to the sole; stitched, including Goodyear welt and Blake; and injection-moulded, with the sole moulded directly onto the upper. Construction sets price, weight, flexibility and whether the shoe is resoleable.

Cemented construction dominates casual and fashion footwear at volume. Goodyear-welted shoes are stitched through a welt strip and are resoleable, at a higher labour cost. Injection-moulded soles suit sports, safety and casual styles. Each style is built on a last — the foot-shaped form — and footwear orders run in size runs across EU, UK or US sizing, so minimums attach to the full size run rather than to a single size.

What order quantities do accessories run at?

Minimums are confirmed per style in the quotation. In accessories the floor is set by materials and tooling: the hide or PU roll, custom buckles, embossing dies and printed packaging each carry a supplier minimum that sets the order floor.

Sharing one leather and one buckle across belt styles, or one PU across a wallet range, reaches those minimums with less total quantity.

How an accessories order runs

  1. Specification — category, material and grade, dimensions, hardware and branding.
  2. Material swatches — leather or PU, colour and finish approved.
  3. Sample — complete article with hardware, branding and packaging.
  4. Bulk production — cutting, skiving, stitching, edge finishing and assembly.
  5. Inspection — final inspection against the approved sample.
  6. Shipment — consolidated with garment orders where both ship together.

Send a reference article or a specification with category, material, grade, dimensions and branding method. We quote unit price, minimum quantity and lead time, with die and mould charges listed separately.
