Buyer visits

Plan a Buyer Visit to Bangladesh: Showroom and Factory

A visit settles in three days what correspondence does not settle in three months. Buyers see the stock, walk the production floor, agree specifications against physical garments, and leave knowing exactly who they are dealing with.

What does a buyer visit to Bangladesh involve?

Showroom review of ready stock, a production floor walk-through, specification discussion against physical samples, and — where useful — visits to additional suppliers in categories we source rather than manufacture.

The order matters. Buyers who see the showroom first arrive at the production discussion already knowing what our output looks like, which makes the specification conversation concrete rather than theoretical.

Additional supplier visits are arranged through our sourcing and supplier management service.

How much time does a productive visit need?

Three working days is the practical minimum for a buyer covering both stock and manufacturing. Two days covers stock alone. A multi-category sourcing trip needs four to five. Tell us your categories when you request the visit.

Bangladesh runs Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday as the weekend. Buyers arriving Thursday evening lose two days before anything can happen, and it is the single most common scheduling error. Plan arrival for Saturday evening or Sunday morning.

Dhaka traffic is the second planning variable. Movements between the city and industrial areas take substantially longer than the distance suggests, and a schedule with four locations in a day is a schedule that will not hold. Time on the production floor is best spent against a checklist, and what to inspect on a factory visit sets one out.

What visa documentation can be provided?

Requirements differ by nationality and change, so verify current rules with the Bangladeshi mission in your country before booking. Allow more time than the stated processing period. Send us your passport details and intended dates as early as possible — the letter takes us a day, but the application does not.

What should a buyer bring to the meeting?

Reference garments, target prices, quantities and delivery dates. A buyer arriving with physical references leaves with quoted prices; a buyer arriving with descriptions leaves with estimates. Bring a tech pack or size chart if you have one.

  • Reference garments for anything you want matched — the fastest specification tool that exists.
  • Target price and quantity per style, so the conversation is commercial rather than exploratory.
  • Your size chart and destination market, because grading differs across markets.
  • Branding artwork, if private label is in scope.
  • Delivery dates you actually need to hit.

Buyers who send this material a week before arriving get quoted prices on day one instead of day three.

How are travel and accommodation arranged?

Dhaka has international-standard hotels in Gulshan and Banani, close to most trading offices.

Tell us your arrival details and we will arrange ground transport. Buyers who prefer to book independently should stay in Gulshan or Banani rather than nearer the airport, because the commute matters more than the distance.

How do I request a buyer visit to Bangladesh?

Send your dates, the categories you want to cover and what you need from the visit. We will propose a schedule, issue the invitation letter, and confirm what we will have ready for you to see.

Buyers whose customers require audit evidence can read about social compliance auditing before the visit.

Buyers not yet ready to travel can start with a ready-stock order, which tests the relationship at low exposure, or ask us to send samples against a specification. Both routes make the eventual visit shorter and more productive.
