What denim lots are available now?
No denim lots are listed right now. Lots appear here as they are counted in, so ask and we will check the warehouse and our supplier network.
Counts are physical counts taken on arrival. Availability is confirmed at enquiry, since a lot shown this morning can be committed by afternoon. The full available ready stock list covers other categories held alongside denim.
What denim weights do we hold?
Denim weight is stated in ounces per square yard. Lots fall between 8 and 14 ounces: light under 8, mid-weight 8 to 12, and heavy above 12. One ounce per square yard equals about 33.9 grams per square metre.
| Class | Weight (oz/yd²) | Approx. g/m² | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light | Under 8 | Under 271 | Shirts, summer jeans |
| Mid | 8 to 12 | 271 to 407 | Standard jeans |
| Heavy | Above 12 | Above 407 | Workwear, raw denim |
The standard jeans construction is a 3x1 right-hand twill, where the weft yarn passes over three warp yarns and under one. The indigo-dyed warp shows on the face and the undyed weft shows on the reverse. How denim weight is measured and checked explains how to verify a stated weight on arrival, a check worth running on any supplier's stock, ours included.
What compositions and stretch levels are stocked?
Composition is stated per lot. Rigid denim is 100 percent cotton, while stretch denim adds 1 to 3 percent elastane, or polyester and viscose blends in fashion fits. Elastane percentage determines recovery and fit retention.
Rigid denim holds its shape and softens with wear. Stretch denim moves with the body and needs less break-in, but loses recovery after repeated washing when elastane content is low. Where a lot's composition is known, we publish the fibre percentages rather than the label "stretch".
How are denim lots washed and finished?
Wash is stated per lot: raw or rinse, stone wash, enzyme wash, acid or bleach wash, and dark or light tint. Each wash alters shade, handfeel and shrinkage, and the finish is stated rather than implied.
Raw denim is unwashed and carries the highest shrinkage, up to 5 percent. Stone and enzyme washes soften the fabric and pre-shrink it. Wash types and what each does to the fabric covers the finishes and their effect on handfeel and wear.
Fit, rise and leg opening are listed per lot where known. Buyers wanting a specified wash and fit in volume are served by denim manufacturing capability, where wash is developed to a swatch.
How do denim size ratios break in stock lots?
Denim sizes by waist and inseam, so a lot spans more size cells than a knit lot. Remaining lots carry gaps: the common waists 32 and 34 clear first, leaving the extremes, and we publish the count per cell.
A lot of 1,000 pieces across 8 waists and 3 inseams spreads thin per cell. Buyers check the breakdown against their market before agreeing a price. Labelling convention, inches or centimetres, is stated per lot.
How is denim packed for export?
Denim is packed folded in polybags, one piece per bag, with a stated carton quantity. Jeans fold flat and ship at high density, so per-piece freight is lower than for bulky categories.
Carton marks follow the buyer's specification, sent with the order rather than after packing. Minimums are stated on each listing. For lot quantities of single styles, see garment stock lots from cancelled orders.
How do I order denim stock lots?
Send the weight band, composition, fit, wash, quantity and price range you work to. We confirm what matches and state the condition and waist-inseam breakdown per lot. First-time buyers are encouraged to inspect, at the warehouse in Dhaka or through their own inspector.
